Visit the 5000 year old Grey Cairns of Camster

Mind your head if you venture inside! An easy walk across duck boards from the nearby lay-by. The Standing Stones at Achavanich are located just a short distance from the A9 near Latheron. Placed around 4000 years ago, the stones are set in a horseshoe. 36 remain of the original 54. The tallest is just over 6.5’ and unusually the stones point towards the centre of the circle.
